Christmas Breakfast, check: A Collection of Quick Healthy Recipes.

This the first year we are celebrating Christmas at home. I am overjoyed that we are not traveling.  But terrified of food preparation. Breakfast especially, I don’t want to spend the whole morning chefing up a feast. I want to get to the good stuff.

Presents.

Christmas Morning Wife Saver is still around, terrible name but a tasty breakfast casserole. If you are looking for something more indulgent than wife saving check out Creme Brulee French Toast, posted by A Bit of Momsense. Both make ahead recipes.

Perhaps you are up for a Christmas morning breakfast challenge, try Blueberry Ricotta Blintzes or Sweet Potato Hash. Both carry my superior stamp of approval. (I just made that stamp business up)

Too busy unwrapping to sit and eat, serve up Breakfast Burritos tree side. With guacamole and salsa for dipping. Bibs might be required depending on your eaters.

Me? I’ll be having…uhm… one of each please. I haven’t decided. Smoked Salmon Stuffed Potatoes look really good, with Poached Eggs and Spinach. That’s healthy.

I’d really like to try out Cinnamon Rolls Pioneer Woman style. Look here for a Gluten Free Cinnamon Roll. Can Christmas breakfast have dessert? I vote that we invent that right now, dessert for all holiday breakfasts from here on in. Who’s with me?

Once your creatures are stirred and fed, sip a Gingerbread Cappucino and get into your stocking. Or maybe something a little more adult, like say, a pretty Pomegranate Mimosa or a Surviving Santa Martini.

Or all of the above.

What are your Christmas morning breakfast plans?

Oh, these all sound so good & are so helpful. We are having a few family members join us as our girls open their presents. One or even two of these will be great! Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas!!

Let me know which one you try. Nearly all of them can be prepared before hand.

Oh, the name of that casserole is, downright, horrible.

I’ve been informed that my mom is making Christmas breakfast . . . this is the first time in a long time that I won’t be in charge of it. I have no idea what to expect, but I’m giddy.

Isn’t it ridiculous? But it was huge in the 80′s, all my University friends grew up with it.
It’s still delicious just has a fancier name now.
      Hope your breakfast is fantastic!

I used to make cinnamon rolls every year because it is such an association I have with Christmas morning, but then decided it was too much work when the kids didn’t seem to appreciate them. They were more interested in the candy that was in their stocking. I make bacon probably 4 times a year and Christmas morning is one of them. Nothing fancy – just bacon, eggs, and toast. Although, I am going to click through to that french toast creme brulee recipe – sounds too good not to. It IS Christmas.

You could have bacon and french toast. I like that you mix everything up the night before with that recipe. I’m going to make the rolls Christmas Eve too.

Impecable timing, I was just searching for ideas last night. I decided on applesauce oatmeal muffins, with little cups of scrambled eggs and bits of sausage mixed in. But now i want to make those cinnamon rolls instead!! Holiday breakfast should definitely include dessert!!

Egg cups are a great idea. Simple and quick.
You could have muffins AND cinnamon rolls. Who says only 1 dessert is allowed? Santa eats cookies at every house, I am sure 2 or 2 breakfast desserts are allowed.

Great idea! Christmas breakfast is one of my faves. Last year I ate a whole loaf of cinnamon bread. Okay, not a whole loaf. But close! I’m thinking cinnamon buns with pecan syrup of some sort. Yes please.

If you can’t eat a whole loaf of cinnamon bread on Christmas, then when can you?
I”m very excited about the rolls.

You are probably going to fall of your chair after smacking your forehead after reading this but every year as a stocking stuffer Santa brings the boys a Fun Pack of Kelloggs cereal – you know the one with 8 different little boxes, all of them loaded with sugar? It’s the one time of year they’re allowed to have it. Hubby and I eat our usual breakfasts. When we make a big fancy shmancy breakfast it throws our entire day off.

Au contraire, it’s genius. I would steal it if it weren’t for the gluten issue. No doubt the kids will be out of bed by 5:30am and a box of cereal would keep them amused allowing for an adult sleep in.
Perhaps the cinnamon rolls will do that.

Love your ideas! Another goodie that I made up that’s quick and easy: Smoked salmon and spinach scramble with sprouted wheat toast on the side.

    scrambled eggs
    when almost cooked, add:
    smoked salmon
    cream cheese
    scallions
    spinach

    a 10-minute prep:)
Have a great holiday at your place!

My dad makes a breaded wreath that’s a lovely treat on Christmas morning. We used to make Santa oatmeal (decorated with raisins, cherries, and whipped cream) until both kids stopped eating oatmeal. I think we’ll do pancakes with fresh fruit and some bacon!

That’s a good plan. As we have pancakes 6 times a week, I put the kibosh on Christmas morning cakes. We’re having them Christmas Eve instead. ;)
